The Golden Horseshoe Outdoors Club is a non-profit organization that was initiated by several fisherman on Lake Ontario over channel 13 on the CB radio.
In the spring of 1980, 18 individuals met and decided that a chartered conservation organization open to the general public was needed in the Golden Horse area. The focal point would be in the Fifty Point Conservation Area.
The G.H.O.C. has grown from 10 members in its inaugural year to over 450 members today. It's an organization for the betterment of conservation, boating, hunting and fishing for now and the future.
